The short version

  • We collect only what we need to run your account, your exams and your batches.
  • We never sell your personal information.
  • Your answers, scores and history are private to you. Rankings show others only what is needed to rank.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time.
  • We don’t show ads and we don’t send marketing emails.

1Who we are and what this covers

Exalyte is an examination and test-preparation platform operated by Exalyte Inc. (“Exalyte”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Exalyte, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have.

It applies to our website, our apps and our support channels. It does not apply to other websites or services that we may link to, such as third-party file hosts used for study materials, which have their own policies.

By creating an account or using Exalyte you agree to this policy. If you don’t agree with it, please don’t use the platform.

2Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address and a password (which we store in protected form, never as plain text).
  • Messages to us: your name, email and message when you use the contact form or reach our support team.
  • Purchases and access: the batches you enrol in and the access codes you redeem. Payment for paid batches is arranged directly with our support team, so we do not collect your card or bank details on the platform.

Information created as you use Exalyte

  • Your answers, scores, attempt times, results, rankings and practice activity.
  • Which exams, batches and study materials you open, and which notifications you have read.

Device and connection information

When you sign up, sign in and take exams we automatically receive technical details such as your IP address, browser and device type, approximate region and the time of activity. We use these to keep accounts and exams secure and fair (see “Security, fair use and fraud prevention”).

We don’t ask for your phone number, home address, government ID or precise location. If you choose to share anything like that with our support team, we will use it only to help you.

3How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and secure your account and keep you signed in;
  • run exams and practice, and show you your results, history and performance analytics;
  • work out rankings and percentiles;
  • give you access to the batches and study materials you have enrolled in, and process the access codes you redeem;
  • answer your messages and give you support;
  • keep Exalyte fair and safe by detecting fake or duplicate accounts, cheating, scraping and other abuse, and by enforcing our Terms of Service;
  • fix problems, maintain the platform and understand, in aggregate, which features are useful so we can improve them;
  • send you important service notices about your account, exams or changes to our terms; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

We don’t use your answers or results to advertise to you, and we don’t send marketing emails or newsletters.

4Rankings and what other students can see

Your answers, scores, history and analytics are visible to you. To provide rankings we compare your score with those of other participants. Where a leaderboard or rank is shown, other participants may see only the limited information needed for ranking, such as a name and a score or rank.

Your email address and other account details are never shown to other students.

Staff can see account and exam information only where it is needed to run the service, give you support, keep things secure or meet legal obligations.

5Security, fair use and fraud prevention

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including protecting it while it is in transit and limiting access to authorised people who need it for their work.

To keep exams fair, we also run automated and manual checks that look for fake or duplicate accounts, automated tools, cheating and other abuse. For security reasons we don’t describe these measures in detail. If a check suggests a problem, we may limit or suspend an account while we review it. If you think we have made a mistake, please contact us and we will look into it.

No method of storing or sending data is completely secure, so please keep your password private and use one that you don’t use elsewhere.

6When we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

  • Service providers. Companies that help us run Exalyte, for example with hosting, security, delivery and communications. They may use your information only to provide services to us and must protect it.
  • Messaging apps. If you contact our support team through a messaging app such as Telegram, that app handles your messages under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Legal and safety reasons. Where we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is needed to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Exalyte.
  • Business changes. If Exalyte Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. Any new owner must continue to protect it under this policy or tell you about changes first.
  • With your consent, or at your request.

We may also share statistics that are combined or anonymised so that they do not identify you.

7How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as we need it to give you your exam history and access. When you ask us to close your account or delete your data, we delete or anonymise it within a reasonable time (we aim for 30 days), except for information we must or reasonably need to keep for legal, security, fraud-prevention or dispute reasons, such as a record that an account was suspended or that an access code was used. Copies held in backups are removed as those backups are replaced.

Messages you send to support are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and handle any follow-up.

8Your choices and rights

You can:

  • See your exam history and results at any time in your dashboard, and ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct information that is wrong or out of date;
  • Delete your account and personal information;
  • Object to or ask us to limit certain uses of your information; and
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on it, and complain to a data-protection authority where you live if you think we have handled your information unlawfully.

To make a request, use our contact page from the email address on your account so we can find your records. We may need to check that you are who you say you are, and we aim to reply within 30 days.

Deleting your account permanently removes your history, rankings and access to any batches you enrolled in. Please read the refund section of our Terms of Service before you do.

9Cookies and similar technologies

We store small amounts of data on your device, for example with cookies or similar technology, only where it is needed to keep you signed in, protect your account and remember your settings. We don’t use advertising cookies and we don’t share data with ad networks.

Our pages may load fonts and similar resources from third-party providers, who can receive your IP address and browser details when your device asks for them. You can clear stored data in your browser settings, but you may then be signed out and some features may stop working.

10Students under 18

Exalyte is built for students preparing for secondary-level and admission exams, and many of them are under 18. If you are under 18, please use Exalyte with the knowledge of a parent or guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11Where information is handled

Exalyte Inc. and our service providers may handle and store information in countries other than the one where you live, including outside Bangladesh. When this happens we take steps to make sure your information stays protected in line with this policy.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add features or when laws change. We will change the “last updated” date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you through the platform or by email before they take effect where we can. If you keep using Exalyte after an update, you accept the new version.

13Contact us

If you have a question or a request about your privacy, please get in touch through our contact page. Tell us the email address on your account so we can help you quickly. Exalyte Inc. is responsible for how your information is handled on Exalyte.
